My way of creatively expressing my annoyance at Lieberman ;^}

advertisement

Is it just me, or is Lieberman excessively annoying?

Yes, like most Democrats, I think he's a traitor and a jerk...but I guess we have to get over that now and "get along." ...at least until he gets voted out of office.

I can try, but seriously...I can't stand his frickin' voice!

Rather than fume, I decided to get my aggression out by making fun of him in Photoshop. Really, it helped!

I'm ready to move on now %^}

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

While he isn't the most exciting speaker, he fails to annoy me in an excessive manner.

It's iinteresting that this question came up.  I have always been annoyed by Lieberman.  I'm not sure what it is, but I just don't like the guy.  It amazes me tha he can get anybody to vote for him.

Connecticut must be pretty weak in the Political Candidate deparment because nobody has been able to beat this guy for his Senate seat ....... in four elections!  You would think Mickey Mouse could beat him.

He should GET the chair, and you can sit in his lap.

             Hilarious. How the Obamistas hate Lieberman. He won re-election in the State of Connecticut. Whether that will happen again, I can't say. But the Democrats have trumpeted themselves as broad and open minded. I don't particularly care for him, and think he's all about Joe Lieberman, but the people of CT decided this one. The rest of the Democrats and especially the Obamistas, are going to choke on this and that's funny. He's not really all that dangerous. In fact, if the Democrats stand for anything, it ought to be: we have a broad range of views and ideas. We are not about squashing someone who "gets out of line." We will tolerate him, and we will allow him to speak his peace. So what if he stood by John McCain? He believed the things McCain stood for, and that's fine. I don't like it, but, as with the surge, McCain and Lieberman, Lindsay Graham, et al, were RIGHT to support it. Had the surge not happened, and had Barack Obama's views prevailed, we would be in a horror show that would make the final two years of the Vietnam War child's play.

             I was IN Vietnam in 1966, and saw the South Vietnamese government fold and be sucked down a rat hole in little more than a year (1974-1975). Had the surge not been implemented, we would be seeing the same horrible images on TV, with the only difference being they were taking place in Iraq, not Vietnam. The poster probably wasn't even born in 1974, and wouldn't understand what it felt like to have fought there, seen people die, and certainly, see people be horribly mauled (I spent a year in Army hospitals looking at incredibly grim scenes of young men torn to bits), and then see all of that thrown to the winds as the South Vietnamese government fell through it's ass.

             Lieberman would never get my vote, but he is entitled to stay where he is.

             A typically whiny Obamista response.

          Excuse me?  Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) was not elected in Connecticut as a Democrat.  In fact, he lost the Democratic primary.  Rather than accept his defeat graciously, he ran in the general as an Independent (his party was called Connecticut for Lieberman - - surprisingly, nobody else ran on his ticket), and, with the help of Republican voters who abandoned their own candidate, edged out the Democratic candidate, Ned Lamont.  Given how close the Senate was in 2004, the Democrats allowed Lieberman to caucus with them even though he had left the party.

          Times have changed and Lieberman has chosen to further estrange himself.  Having promised to investigate the Katrina mess in his Senate Homeland Security Committee, then, when the time came, decided that Katrina and FEMA did not warrant an investigation.  Lieberman said he was "just being bipartisan."  In fact, every time he voted the Republican party line, he accused the Democrats of a failure in bipartisanship.  It would be funny if it weren't so pathetic.

          Now, Lieberman has gone further.  Not only did he campaign for McCain, but he took every opportunity to slander Obama at every turn.

          To defend Lieberman because you like is position on Iraq is one thing.  After all, there are (very few) other hawks who are actually Democrats.  However, those Senators are also loyal to the party itself.

          Of course Lieberman should have been kicked to the curb.  And no, the notion of his use in achieving cloture of a filibuster should not matter, since nobody should count on the loyalty of a traitor.  However, Obama has promised to cross the aisle, and has apparently chosen this occasion to make a symbolic statement.  Since Obama has proven himself to be far smarter than any of the pundits, I will gladly hold my opinion in reserve and assume that he has thought this through and that I will understand his reasoning in due course.

                Lieberman ran on an anti-war platform.  He changed positions almost immediately upon reelection.  He ran on the point that he would be better able than Ned Lamont to put a Democrat in the White House in 2008, and then worked against them.  His positions and alliances are dictated by which candidate and Party will most likely make war on the people and nations of the Middle East.  That is, who will start proxy wars for Israel.  Were Obama to promise a war against the people of Iran, Lieberman would run to him in a second.

                I do care that he's a liar.  I do care that he's a back-stabber.  I do care that he's a weasel and untrustworthy.  I care even more that he does not believe in representative government and the will of the electorate.  I care most that he wants to sent American men and women to die and kill for a rogue little nation.  I live in Connecticut and will work diligently to see that this is the end of Joe Lieberman's political career here.  I hope, sincerely, that he doesn't have a security clearance.

                I really thought you had the b*st*rd knocked out last time.  I never liked Lieberman since early on in his first term, when he was clearly a Republican in Democrat's clothing.  I guess the one thing he couldn't falsify was being from liberal Connecticut.  But how did he ever become Attorney-General in a state where even the elected Republicans are moderate?

                        Why would you call him an opportunists? Because he doesn't vote with the Dem's 100% of the time? That is what an Independent does. They don't stick to one party line.Thatis why I'm an Independent. I am not defending him or condemning him. If you have valid reasons for your statements that is one thing. If it is just because he doesn't side with the Dem's 100% then that is another. The whole ideal of being an Independent is that you can look at both sides, and make a logical decision without party affiliation involved. I was a Dem for years before I went Independent,and I would rather be here then affiliated with either party.

                          No I am democrat and I don't agree with everything they do.  But when he cried that if he could not keep his committee chair he caucus with the Rep that said it was all about him.  I watch him on TV today and he said "I'm a Democrat."  I don't care what he calls himself just pick one and stay there.  I belive that all the things listed below fit him.

                          • a political of aiming to increase one's political influence at almost any price, or a political style which involves seizing every and any opportunity to extend one's political influence, whenever such opportunities arise.

                          • the practice of abandoning in reality some important political principles that were previously held, in the process of trying to increase one's political power and influence.

                          • a trend of thought, or a political tendency, seeking to make political capital out of situations with the main aim being that of gaining more influence or support, instead of truly winning people over to a principled position or improving their political understanding.

                          Thank you for your logical response. Your right he should pick one side,and stick with it if he is going to say he is a Democrat, then he needs to stick to that. If he had said he was an Independent then I would have had a different response. I still have hope that regardless if your a Dem Or Republican, when it comes time to vote on anything it will be the best choice for the country,and it's people. Never because of  party line. Thank You again for your thoughtful response. Have a good day:-)
